The new version is still under development, so I can't say exactly when it will be finished. I think an estimate would be until end of Q1 2018 (if no major issues).
The new HW will have better specifications, but there are some fine pitch components and BGA chips on pcb board which are more difficult to hand-solder.
However, since we have received some interest for the finished boards, we also plan to start a crowdfunding campaign after the new version will be finished. So if you don't mind waiting (and if the crowdfunding campaign will be successful), i think it would be better to order the finished board via the crowd-sale page.
